Parker River NWR - Lot #1 Refuge Rd., Newbury, MA, MA, United States

We will explore various locations on the Refuge in search of breeding birds. Note that entrance fee or pass is required. Restrooms available.

Shore Birding around Boston

Stops may include Belle Isle Marsh, The Key, Revere Beach, and Winthrop. We will not be carpooling so participants must have their own cars.

Plum Island

We will be looking for Shorebirds and Fall migrants. We will drive and walk to various places on the Refuge. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required.

Plum Island

We will be walking the North Pool dike as well as visiting other spots. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required.

The Lakes of Wakefield and Lynnfield

Wakefield - Lakeside Inn Hotel 595 North Ave, Wakefield, MA, United States

We will visit several different lakes and ponds in Wakefield and Lynnfield primarily looking for waterfowl. There will be some walking.

North Shore Waterfowl Expedition

Topsfield Fair Grounds 207 Boston St, Topsfield, MA, United States

We will visit several different water bodies in Essex County in attempting to see as many as 25 different species of Ducks and Geese. There will be some walking. We will end up at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required to visit Parker River NWR.

Salisbury Beach State Reservation

We will bird the Salisbury Beach State Park. In case of inclement weather check with leader night before trip. There will be some walking. Bathrooms available.

Lynnfield Marsh

Lynnfield Marsh 127 Summer Street, Lynnfield, MA, United States

We will walk approximately 1.5 miles along an old railbed and through forest to the nearby marsh. Possible early spring migrants seen and heard during this evening walk include Marsh Wren, Sora, Virginia Rail, and American Woodcocks. BBC field trips are open to all participants. Unless otherwise stated, all trips are free to attend and do not need preregistration. You do not need to be a club member to attend, though we hope you will join.
