Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge,White Pond Rd Entrance
Tuesday, June 10 @ 6:30 am - 9:30 am
Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge contains a diverse mixture of pine and hardwood forest, old fields, and wetlands. We will walk 2-3 miles on even, well-maintained trails in search of warblers, raptors, flycatchers and a variety of other migrants and residents. Can be buggy – insect repellent recommended. We will plan on making a short drive to a second parking area for a look at Assabet’s Great Blue Heron Rookery. Restrooms and/or Port-a-potties are available at both parking areas.
