Unless otherwise stated, BBC field trips and webinars are open to all participants and are free to attend. Most field trips do not need preregistration though all webinars do. South Boston – Castle Island

Join us on a free joint BBC-Boston Nature Center bird walk to observe resident birds and winter migrants in a unique urban setting that is a favorite habitat for many bird species. A BNC naturalist will help us find and identify birds through field marks, sounds, and behaviors. We will search for wintering alcids, loons & sea ducks, shorebirds, and Snowy Owls. The walk is suitable for all levels from advanced to beginner.
The walk is free but all participants must pre-register by emailing cgeorge@massaudubon.org and copying neil.calabro1@mac.com. Please note that participants must be at least 13 years of age and this outing is limited to 30 people.
Dress warmly and be prepared for snow/ice, cold, and wind. Expect to walk approximately 2 miles on paved/level paths. Port-a-potties may be available.
