Lawrence is well known for its winter crow roost, with thousands of birds pouring in from every direction. Join us for a late afternoon trip to witness this spectacle. Participants will meet an hour before sunset at 3:30 pm. In case of bad weather, we will meet on Sunday, January 19th, same time.

Participation in this field trip is limited. Contact leader by email to register and to inquire about details. Registrants will receive specific recommendations closer to the date. Meeting location will be decided at that time since the crows often choose different places to stage and roost.

We do not know when this roost was established. Former Brookline Bird Club president Eliot Taylor first witnessed and described the phenomenon in February of 1989. On January 3, 2018, trip leaders Dana and Bob estimated 14,000 crows at the roost. How many will roost on January 18th? Join Dana and Bob to find out.
