Leave your car behind as we cycle the main refuge road looking and listening for spring migrants. Be ready to peddle by 6:30 a.m. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required. Restrooms available.

We will cover most of the refuge on flat and easy trails looking for residents and early migrants. A large variety of species can be seen here. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required.

We will walk around three miles on easy paths through woodland and riparian habitats as we search for migrants and residents. Possibility of spring flooding in the area - check BBC website for late cancellation. Steady rain also cancels walk. 

We will hike the north side of Big Chauncy Pond in search of migrant warblers.

An easy but long (four-hour) walk on the roads and grassy footpaths of this traditional warbler hot-spot. Mainly level terrain, but will likely have some muddy areas and uneven terrain. Heavy rain cancels.

We will explore various parts of the Parker River NWR in search of warblers. Note than entrance fee or pass is required. Restrooms available.

Will walk the three-mile loop. No restroom facilities. Target birds: Indigo Bunting, Blue-winged Warbler, Yellow-throated Vireo, and Olive-sided Flycatcher.

We’ll look for breeding Worm-eating Warblers, Prairie Warblers and Indigo Buntings. One to two miles of walking–most trails are good, but we may want to take some steeper and rockier paths.

Just two miles from the Rhode Island border, Caratunk Wildlife Refuge in Seekonk, MA offers six miles of nature hiking trails through nearly 200 acres of fields, forests, streams and ponds. Our target birds will be late migrants including Mourning Warbler and flycatchers. Be prepared to walk three to five miles. Conspoonsored with Menotomy Bird Club.

We will walk a 2 mile loop through fallow fields and some wooded areas. Trails are gravel, fairly level and usually dry. This is a great spring migration spot for warblers.

Trying for 50 species again this year, we’ll be walking about a mile and a half, mostly staying on pavement. Boots are not required. Ticks should not be a problem.
