Birding 101

Join us to observe resident birds and early fall migrants in a unique urban habitat that is a favorite for many bird species, including uncommon and rare birds. We will watch the fall migration rise and fall at a suburban park location,over the span of seven weeks: Warblers give way to sparrows. Easy walk near garden plots, along the Charles, and through woods. Waterproof shoes recommended. Canceled if steady rain. Portapotty available.

Beginners encouraged. A two-hour walk over easy to moderate trails in search of seasonal specialties. Boots advisable. Co-sponsored by DCR.

In the fall water levels are lowered creating good conditions for ducks and shorebirds. We will also visit the adjacent Lexington community farm.
