This is often a great place for fall sparrows including Savannah, Field, White-crowned and Lincoln’s as well as other migrants and raptors. This will be a two-mile walk. A scope may be helpful if you are comfortable carrying one.

THIS TRIP HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO SUNDAY OCTOBER 1 - A two mile walk on (mostly) paved paths around the pond. In addition to the “usual suspects”, we are likely to see some of the fall warblers, plus possibly a few of the Weird Ducks that have started to arrive.

We will be birding the Beach Loop, Quansett Trail, and Allen's Neck Trails of Allen's Pond Wildlife Sanctuary in search of migrant passerines in the thickets and ocean and marsh birds. Can be combined with Gooseberry Neck.

We will walk the farm road and the mowed paths along the wood edge looking for migrants. After birding for an hour or so, we’ll walk up together to meet the banders at Manomet Headquarters.
