Allens Pond, Dartmouth

We will be birding the Beach Loop, Quansett Trail, and Allen's Neck Trails of Allen's Pond Wildlife Sanctuary in search of migrant passerines in the thickets and ocean and marsh birds. Can be combined with Gooseberry Neck.

Great Meadows NWR, Concord

We will walk easy trails looking for birds. This is a good time for raptors. Beginners welcome. Note that entrance fee or pass is required.

Outer Cape

All Day. This trip should record close to 100 species covering Canada Goose through House Sparrow, both of which might be missed. Co-sponsored with the South Shore Bird Club.  Rescheduled from October 1.

Great Meadows NWR, Concord

Join us as we walk on easy paths around the refuge impoundments in hopes of finding fall migrants such as waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds and sparrows. Note that entrance fee or pass is required.

Ricci Field Conservation Land, Lincoln MA

This is often a great place for fall sparrows including Savannah, Field, White-crowned and Lincoln's as well as other migrants. This will be a two-mile walk. A scope may be helpful if you are comfortable carrying one, but no sharing of optics with non-family participants.

Plum Island

We will be walking the North Pool dike as well as visiting other spots. Note that an entrance fee or pass is required.

Belle Isle Marsh Reservation & Vicinity

East Boston - Belle Isle Parking Lot 1399 Bennington Street, Boston, MA, United States

Led by DCR staff. We will search on foot up to one mile, on flat, easy terrain for raptors, native sparrows, finches, herons, and egrets. Expect to move to different locations by car or bicycle. BBC field trips are open to all participants. Unless otherwise stated, all trips are free to attend and do not need preregistration. You do not need to be a club member to attend, though we hope you will join. We follow all policies of field trip location property owners and co-sponsoring organizations. These may include ongoing public health measures. Some participants may choose to wear a face mask for health purposes. We support their right to do so.
